We agree with Val. Caring for special needs students is rewarding and touching, almost spiritual at times. We are a company of compassion, uplifting one student at a time. We find joy in doing for Jenny (name changed) what she cannot do for herself.
Last year, when Jennifer was lying on a mat at school, she rolled herself over. Though nonverbal, she could tell you whether she wanted the music toy or the weather page by lifting her arm. This year, due to seizures and her body growing, she is unable to roll over to cough out secretions. The fluid isn't thick, but it's in the way of a deep breath. She is unable to lift her leg more than an inch to change positions. Jennifer is thinking to herself, “Just lying here where they put me is all right, but it'd sure be nice to be on my side.” This year Jennifer had not been able to communicate more than a smile — until a team worked with her for a better life.
Jennifer was introduced to a touch screen that responds to her eye movement. She was taught she had control, that what she focused on mattered. She learned to communicate with her eyes that she needed to roll over, needed help clearing her throat, and wanted the music toy.
With Jennifer and many others, their story is our story. As part of the team, part of the classroom, we provide the nurses who celebrate life's victories alongside everyone else — the excitement of “you touched red,” an intentional “yes,” a first outstretched hand to grab something. We are inspired by the effort our students put forth to follow a glittery boa with their eyes; it is difficult for them, and they try so hard.

Only the first step — it's what qualifies us. Every H2H nurse holds an active, compact Utah RN or LPN license, current CPR certification, and school-setting training in trach suctioning, G-tube feeding, and seizure precautions.
You'll have us when you want us — and won't when you don't. We staff consistently so classrooms, teachers, and families can count on continuity of care, day after day.
Your student is safe in our care. From continual airway assessment to seizure response, our nurses are trained for the specific needs of the students they support.
